We’re excited to introduce Unmind Meet, the new video platform for Unmind Talk sessions. Powered by LiveKit, Unmind Meet offers an improved, more seamless video experience for both practitioners and clients.

Why are we making this change?

Our previous video partner, Twilio, has moved their platform into maintenance mode, meaning no further improvements will be made. By switching to LiveKit, we can provide:

  • A smoother session experience with new features like chat, screen sharing, and background blur
  • Better integration with the Unmind Talk platform
  • A more reliable global connection
  • A simplified user experience with no additional software required

What is Unmind Meet?

Unmind Meet is our new video platform for Talk sessions, replacing Frankie Meet. It will be hosted at meet.unmind.com.

What features does Unmind Meet have?

  • Chat functionality (messages disappear after the session)
  • Screen sharing (not supported on mobile)
  • Mobile compatibility
  • Background blur (available in Chrome and Edge browsers)
  • Session Prep prompts to help clients prepare before their sessions

Do I need to inform my clients of this change?

We will provide clients with the correct new link for their call, and their experience will otherwise remain similar to Frankie Meet. We won't proactively inform clients, so you may wish to do so via email while arranging a session.

Will I need to do anything different when setting up a session?

No. Unmind Meet will automatically be the default option when creating new video sessions.

Does this change how session preparation works?

If clients haven’t completed session preparation before their session, they will be prompted to do so when they join Unmind Meet. To ensure you have the latest information, we recommend checking for session prep data in Unmind Connect immediately before the session.

How do I use Unmind Meet?

  1. Click the session link from the platform or your calendar.
  2. If it’s your first time, allow camera and microphone access.
  3. Enter your display name.
  4. Check your settings in the pre-call waiting room.
  5. Click "Join Session" to start.
  6. Click "Leave" to exit when finished.

Does Unmind Meet support screen sharing?

Yes, you can share your screen. However, you may not see the other participant while sharing your entire browser window.

Does Unmind Meet allow recordings?

No, session recording is not currently supported.

Does Unmind Meet work on mobile?

Yes, you can join sessions from your mobile device.

Is Unmind Meet GDPR compliant?

Yes. LiveKit outlines its GDPR commitments in the DPA, including but not limited to:

  • Details of Processing
  • Cross-border data transfers
  • Security measures
  • They provide mechanisms for cross-border data transfers including EU Standard Contractual Clauses
  • They have specific provisions for data processing in the EEA including:
    • Implementation of appropriate technical and organizational measures
    • Requirements for sub-processors to protect data to GDPR standards
    • Specific safeguards for data transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

My organisation only allows Zoom or other providers. How can I ensure Unmind Meet is secure?

Our video partner LiveKit provides robust security that should meet your practice's Information Security requirements:

  • Enterprise-Grade Security:
    • SOC 2 Type II certification
    • All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2) and at rest (AES-256)
    • No storage of audio or video data
    • Comprehensive access controls and security monitoring
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • GDPR compliant
    • Our agreement with Livekit ensures that their Data Processing Agreement (DPA) applies at all times
    • Clear data processing and sub-processor documentation

Do I need to download anything to use Unmind Meet?

No. Unmind Meet runs in your web browser. You only need to grant camera and microphone access.

What should I do if Unmind Meet isn’t working?

  • Try refreshing the page or switching browsers.
  • If you have a backup video platform, use that as an alternative.
  • Contact us if the issue persists.

Does this change how I confirm sessions?

No, the session confirmation process remains the same.

Can I still use Zoom or other platforms for Talk sessions?

Yes, if you have a Zoom account, you can integrate it with Unmind Connect. In case of technical difficulties, you can use another platform to ensure the session happens.

What happens to upcoming sessions that are already booked?

You can continue using Frankie Meet until April 2025. If you’d like to switch an existing session to Unmind Meet, edit the video call section in your session settings.
