Practitioner Payments Policy

Payment is dependent on the session status

Therapists and coaches who provide sessions on Unmind are eligible for payment under the following conditions:

  • All sessions must be booked on the platform. If a session is not showing in your calendar for any reason, please contact our Support team within 21 days of the session taking place. Failure to do so could result in not being paid for these sessions.
  • Once completed, the practitioner must update the session status in Connect following the steps to confirm the session here: Confirming your sessions in Connect.
  • Sessions that were cancelled or not attended by the client will be paid according to our Cancellation Policy.
  • Practitioners can confirm a session status 5 calendar days (120 hours) after the start time of the session. If a practitioner misses this confirmation window, Unmind assumes the session did not go ahead, and will not make any payment for this session.
  • Failure to confirm a booked session within 21 days may result the practitioner not being paid for the session.

Practitioners receive payment based on:

  • The agreed in-country rate and currency
  • The number of sessions successfully confirmed by payment via the session confirmation process in Connect.
  • Unmind’s Cancellation Policy.

More information on how Unmind determines in-country rates can be found in our Practitioner Rates Policy.

Practitioners must meet Unmind’s expectations to receive payment

Unmind reserves the right to withhold all or any part of payment to a practitioner if Unmind determines that:

  • The service provided is not satisfactory
  • The service does not meet Unmind’s expectations and standards of care
  • The practitioner is suspected of fraudulently requesting payment from Unmind

Where the practitioner can prove they have met all of Unmind’s expectations for practitioners and taken appropriate measures to follow Unmind’s procedures, payment will not be withheld and will be paid according to this policy, and the Practitioner Agreement.

Unmind processes payments weekly

Payments are to be processed on a weekly basis, usually on a Monday. Payments are processed in the UK and in the UK timezone, so some payments may not be initiated until Tuesday, if the practitioner’s timezone is ahead of the UK.

Once initiated, some payments may take longer to process depending on the practitioner’s location and / or bank. Unmind is not responsible for payment delays caused by the practitioner’s bank.

Where Monday falls on a public holiday in the UK, payments may be processed in the days following the public holiday. Unmind takes steps to ensure the payment schedule is not significantly disrupted in these cases, but where necessary, Unmind will notify practitioners of any significant changes to the payment schedule, e.g. during the Christmas holiday period.

In the event of any discrepancies in payment:

  • Practitioners should contact the support team within 10 business days of receiving payment.
  • Discrepancies will be reviewed, and any adjustments will be made in the following pay cycle, if necessary.

Payments are processed via a secure banking platform

Practitioners must complete the steps Confirming your sessions in Connect in order to receive payment for their session(s).

Unmind uses the banking platform Wise to process practitioner payments. If a session status is confirmed by Monday, Unmind will begin processing the payment to the practitioner for all confirmed sessions completed the previous week.

For the first payment from Unmind, practitioners will receive an email from Wise asking them to create a Wise account. This email will be sent from Floe Interactive, a trading name of Unmind Ltd. Practitioners must follow the steps in the email in order to receive the payment from Unmind. Failure to complete this step may result in delays. Once a practitioner has created an account with Wise, they will continue to receive funds to the account created.

Wise does not operate in some countries/regions of the world. In these cases, practitioners may be paid via an alternative bank platform as determined by Unmind.

Unmind will not be liable for any financial losses incurred due to the input of incorrect bank details on Wise. Unmind is also not responsible for any bank fees due to the practitioner in order to receive payment.

Practitioners are responsible for tax and regulatory compliance

Each practitioner is responsible for complying with local tax regulations and for reporting their income as required.

Unmind will issue statements summarising payments for tax reporting purposes on request. This may include completing payment confirmation forms for independent contractors, e.g. 1099 forms in the US.

Unmind does not advise practitioners on questions relating to tax and compliance. Practitioners are encouraged to consult a tax advisor if they have any questions about tax obligations.
