What is Self-Pay?
At Unmind, we're committed to ensuring that everyone has access to the mental health care they need, when they need it. That's why we built Self-Pay, a great feature to help with the continuation of care.
Self-Pay empowers you to transition your clients into private care and continue your journey without interruptions - even after a client has reached their employer funded session limit.
How to use Self-Pay
To continue treatment with a client who has used all of their employer funded sessions and wishes to move to Self-Pay, follow this process:
- Discuss your fees and availability with the client.
- Add them as a private client using their personal email address in Connect. This will create a separate profile from the one connected to their organisation, so you can manage continuous care with them on a one-on-one basis.
Note, this must be done using a different email address to the one they use to log into the Unmind platform
- Arrange a session time and agree your fee.
- Schedule the session in Connect, this will send an invite to the user with both a payment and joining link.
- Conduct your sessions via Zoom or Unmind Meet as you would normally.
Should your client's employer funded session balance refresh, they have flexibility to continue with private practice sessions, or opt for further Talk sessions within the Unmind app.
Additional information / FAQ
Can my clients book Talk sessions from within the Unmind app?
The Self-Pay experience is currently conducted outside of the Unmind app for clients, using a separate email address to the one clients use to log in to Unmind.
How can my client move back to employer funded sessions?
If a client's employer funded session balance refreshes (usually on an annual basis) they can swap from Self-Pay by booking a session with you via the Unmind app, using their employer provided account.
Will my clients be invited to complete the Session Preparation questionnaires?
No, the questionnaires will not be available once the client has moved to self-pay so if you wish to gather this information from them we encourage you to send these to them separately.
