How it works
When you connect your Google Calendar with your Unmind Connect calendar, Unmind checks both calendars before showing your availability to clients. Any time slot that's already taken in Google Calendar will appear as unavailable for clients, so you won't get booked for a session when you already have something else in your diary.
ℹ️ This is a one-way sync. Your Google Calendar feeds into Connect, but nothing from Connect gets added to your Google Calendar.
How to sync your Google Calendar with your Connect calendar
You can add your Google Calendar by navigating to Settings > Integrations in your Unmind Connect account.
Once you click “Add Google Calendar”, you'll be taken to a Google sign-in page. Sign in to the Google account you want to use, then review and accept the permissions. You'll be brought back to Unmind once the connection is set up.
What Unmind will access to sync your calendars
We only read the start and end times of your calendar events. Your Google Calendar events stay private: we don't access event titles, descriptions, locations, or attendee details.
You'll be asked to grant Unmind read-only access to your Google Calendar. This is the minimum access needed to check for conflicts, and we don't store or share your calendar data.
Which calendar events get synced
Only your primary Google Calendar is checked for conflicts – secondary or shared calendars on the same account won't be included.
Events marked as "Free" in Google Calendar won't block your availability in Connect – only events marked as "Busy" will.
For events you've been invited to in Google Calendar, your response status determines whether that time is blocked in your Connect calendar:
Your response to an event in Google Calendar | Availability marked as 'Busy' in Connect? |
Yes | Yes |
Maybe | Yes |
No | No |
Not responded yet | Yes |
If you haven't responded to an invite, we treat that time as potentially busy – so clients won't be able to book until you've declined or the event has passed.
Disconnecting your calendar
You can disconnect your Google Calendar at any time from Settings > Integrations in your Unmind Connect account. Once disconnected, Unmind will no longer check your Google Calendar for conflicts.
Disconnecting won’t delete any events from your Google Calendar.
Viewing your Google Calendar events in Connect
Once your Google Calendar is synced, your Google Calendar events will appear directly in your Connect calendar as 'Busy' blocks, so you can see your full schedule in one place.
Click on any Busy block to see its date and time. We only access the start and end times of your events, so no other details such as the event title, description, location, or attendees will be visible.
Scheduling conflicts
If a Google Calendar event overlaps with an existing Connect session, you'll see a conflict indicator with warning banner when you click on that session:
"You are double-booked. This time slot overlaps with another event in your calendar."
This is a prompt to check your availability: if you are indeed unavailable for that session, you'll need to make changes accordingly, either in Connect or in your Google Calendar.
Instant book slots
If you offer Instant Book slots, any slot that clashes with a Google Calendar event will show as unavailable in your Connect calendar. Clients will not see these slots as available and won't be able to book them.
ℹ️ You don't need to do anything to make this happen. The integration checks your Google Calendar automatically and updates your availability in real time.
